The rapids of the
Trancura
river upstream Metreñehue Bridge just where
Cabañas Parque Metreñehue
is situated are an excellent wild water-course for experienced and
professional kayak fans.
On this course of about 400 meters Chilean
championships took place and it was very much appreciated by world top
teams from the northern hemisphere to carry their winter training.
Some of the top teams that have been training here in
the last years:

the Italian selection in 1998

the German selection in 2000, 2002 and 2003

the US kayak team in 2004
-
a US junior team in 2004
Most of the teams stayed in our hotel.
All actives and their coaches highly appreciated the
convenient course-, water- and weather conditions as well as the good
accommodation.
